Cakes: Estrel's Caramel Cake (Reblogged)

Not so sweet yet its Caramel cake?! Imagine that? Well, hello to Estrel's Caramel Cake!

Classic yet simple cake designs using butter icing is a big YES! Who wouldn't fall in love with these cakes?

full of roses :)

Estrel's Butter Icing Heart shaped cake

my debut cake

Fuschia, Lilac, Aqua Blue themed
Theme color for the roses? Feel free to choose :)

Cake shapes? Available in round, rectangle, heart and fan.

Chiffon cake flavors? Available in Lemon, Vanilla and Mocha. But I best recommend the Lemon flavor for Caramel icing cakes, it was a good combination :)

Icing flavors? Butter icing, Mallows icing, Caramel icing (--their best seller and  a must try for not so sweet tooth persons)

Additional icing for your cake? Add some more filling but of course with additional charge :)

These cakes are PRE-ORDERED, order it for 2 to 3 days before the day you need it. This makes the cake maintain its freshness. But sometimes, I saw some Caramel cake slices available at the store so I guessed sometimes they sell not pre-ordered cakes but its only for slices nga lang. :D

And one more thing, since they're not using preservatives or what so called, their cakes flavors and freshness could only last for up to 1 or 2 days. But I'll certainly assume you that Estrel's cakes will never last by a day, MAUUBOS KAAGAD YUN! :)))) well, its based on my own experience. :))))

Well, there cakes are very suitable for every occasion. I"m sure you'll fall in love with these cakes inside and out! <3

Korean: Shin Dang Dong (Reblogged)

SHIN DANG DONG, a Korean restaurant located somewhere in Makati (you can see the complete address at the end of this post :p). It is known for their best seller COOK-YOUR-OWN Ddeokbokki or Spicy Rice Cakes (떡볶이).

Philippines have kwek kwek, fish balls and squid balls as our best bought street foods and in Korea, Ddeokbokki is one of their popular snack purchased from the street vendors.

Unlike to other Korean restaurants in the Philippines in which they only served ordinary Ddeokbokki with just the gonchujang, fish cakes and some ground beef, Shin Dang Dong offers the traditional Ddeokbokki  variation which consists of the spicy chilli paste of Korea known as gochujang, fish cakes, pan fried Mandu (Korean dumplings), boiled eggs, sausages, ramyeon (Korean instant noodles), a variety of fried vegetables (onions, carrots, cabbage, onion leeks) and of course the special ingredient, the CHEESE. Not just that, Shin Dang Dong lets you cook your own Ddeobokki.

All set up for cooking :D YEAAAAY!

You can see from the photo above is the traditional Ddeokkbokki with Boiled Eggs, Gonchujang, Veggies and Fish Cakes.

Each serving is good for 2-3 persons and prices ranges from 450-600PhP. It also comes with FREE DRINK, a pitcher of Iced Tea already. Sulit na, di ba?

Additional ingredients: Pan Fried Mandu, Sausages, Ramyeon

STAR OF THE DISH: CHEESE!!!
The cheese made a twist on the dish's spicy taste, it gives more flavorful taste on the dish aside from the flavors that the fish cakes, sausages and mandu bought. I can say that it adds richness to the dish's flavors. I SUPER LOVE THE FEELING IT GIVES!!

Ready for our growling tummies! waaaaaaa!
You can also decide the level of hotness you want for your Ddeokbokki, from Mild to Hot to Super Hot. It all depends on your courage to face the hotness! hahaha But for me, I would recommend it to be Hot for you to be able to savour every element of the dish.

Spice up your meal more with the available side dishes they serve to you for FREE! Additional Kimchi = FREE!

korean-radish something

Korea's traditional KIMCHI

Miyeok Gook (미역국), Korean Seaweed Soup

To end up our full blast meal, we tried the Patbingsu or Patbingsoo (팥빙수) or Korean Halo Halo.

It is made from shaved ice and topped with red beans, fruits, yogurt, milk, syrup, rice cakes and corn flakes. Sweet tooth = SATISFIED!

having fun at the restaurant

So far, this was one of the best korean restaurant around the Metro. The service is good and fast, the waitresses dressed in Korean style clothes are friendly, and the price is worth it.

Kazams (Reblogged)

Kazams, one of our favorite restaurant for our lunch during college days. The place and ambiance of the place is more comfortable compared to other food premises/establishments around University of Santo Tomas. Plus plus plus the service is good!

Their service is time efficient and more organized though the price of the food is little above average compared to other food establishments around Dapitan but they still offer some student-budget friendly menu worth a 100Php and their regular menu ranges 110-190Php inclusive of red iced tea.

They offer different dishes from different international cuisines. So you would have a long list of choices for your meal anytime of the day. :)

Some of my favorites are: (Inclusive of Regular Red Iced Tea)

Chicken Diablo - 130Php

2 large Chicken wings with Sweet and Chili sauce, comes with java rice and mixed vegetables on the side.

Kimchi Jigae - 120 to 130Php
A traditional Korean kimchi soup :) Perfect with hot steamed rice :)

T-Bone Steak - 145Php
T-Bone Steak with mushroom gravy sauce and buttered veggies on the side.
Fish Au Gratin - 145Php

Baked Cream Dory topped with creamy sauce and melted cheese.

   *NO PICTURE POSTED* :(
   * I swear you would love to try this dish! It melts in your mouth because of the richness of the cream and   cheese sauce.

And these are the other dishes we already tried. More to come :)))

Chicken Pandan (can't remember the exact price) - 130-150Php

chicken rolled with Pandan leaves and served with honey sauce, buttered veggies and java rice

Cordon Bleu-like with herbed cream sauce - 130-150Php

Cafe Noriter (Reblogged)

Recently I discovered a cozy place to chill out, even study or do projects or meetings somewhere in Taft.

I first heard about this place from my friends from La Salle and College of St. Benilde, they keep telling me stories about this place, yung MASARAP-TAMBAYAN na lugar talaga.

One rainy afternoon while I was around Taft area, I and my friends went to visit this so called "Cafe Noriter" its not located in a easy-to-find place but when I entered the cafe, there were so many students having their meetings and even doing their homeworks.

I just said to myself "ITO YUNG HINAHANAP KONG LUGAR NA MASARAP MAG-ARAL".

Cafe Noriter is a Korean inspired coffee shop, it's interiors and ambiance of the whole place were just so perfect to give anyone who visits a calm and yet fun time.
CUTE stuffs
The available frappes and desserts are also affordable and yummy.

Mocha Frappe, Coffee Jelly

This would be the perfect place for a Sweet lover and sleep lover (?!) like me. LOL.You could even lie down to the floor and relax. And you could even leave marks/messages/ or should I say anyone could put some vandals on some parts of the floors. hahaha
